Stupid question of the day

OK, I've been frittering around on the computer for decades. (OK, a little less). I still do not know how to make a table that fills the entire page evenly. Or even the given space evenly. ie, I make a table containing three rows and four columns. All I want is for it to make all the rectangles the same size. Is that too much to ask?

Are you using Word? Try highlighting your table and right-clicking on it. You should get a menu that offers options, including "properties" or "table properties". Click on that and you'll get a little module that offers options for sizing the individual columns or the table as a whole. You can size it according to pixels or percent of page width. Hope that helps.
